Credit Programme

In order to cultivate cultural heritage talents and promote concepts of cultural heritage conservation, restoration, management and maintenance, the Bureau of Cultural Heritage actively implements the "Cultural Heritage Protection Network-College of Cultural Heritage and Talent Cultivation Project" initiated by the Ministry of Culture, and is committed to becoming a national-levelled cultural heritage conservation training base. Through the integration of public and private resources and other mechanism, the college provides various cultural heritage conservation courses and skill training through formal/non-formal education system. Increasing research and development energy, hoping to introduce the concepts of conservation, restoration and inheritance to the public, and build up the public's understanding and recognition towards Taiwan’s cultural heritages.

The programme aims to establish the basic concepts and technologies related to the conservation and restoration of cultural relics, integrate cross-discipline courses to develop new horizons, and promote the importance and diversity of cultural relics conservation and restoration studies. Whether it is artistic creation, historical context, social issues, technological applications, global trends, etc., through the thinking strategy of “conservation and revitalization of culture”, it aims to inspire students via introducing art, humanities, and technology to the courses. The curriculum combines the enlightenment education of cultural conservation practice, theory, and discussion.

NTNU Cultural Relics Conservation
Credit Programme

In 2019, in response to the key education policies of NTNU, the two-year "Cultural Relics Conservation Programme" was proposed. It is based upon the "National Taiwan University Alliance" (Consisting National Taiwan Normal University, National Taiwan University, and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology), RC3R's long-term involvement in the Higher Education SPROUT Project and long-term international deep-cultivation.

In 2020, the interdisciplinary “Cultural Relics Conservation Programme” was established. The programme focuses on “Practical Experiences”, “Research”, “Education”, and “Internationalization” to cultivate young conservation personnel. Integrating art creation, scientific analysis, cultural relic conservation technology, art history, we pushes cultural relics conservation to take root across fields and prepares students for the future development of postgraduate programmes, working for research institutes, and pursuing doctoral education.
