Introduction

From 2011 to 2014, Chen Cheng-po Cultural Foundation entrusted 1,043 pieces of works of arts (36 pieces of oil paintings; 1,007 pieces of water color, charcoal and pencil sketches, ink and color paintings, photo albums and 28 sketchbooks) to RCCCR for conservation. After treatments, the works of arts were successively exposed in the「East Asia Tour Exhibition on the 120th birthday of Chen Cheng-po」. The exhibition toured 3 countries and 5 cities, including Tainan, Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Taipei. There were over 460 paintings and more than 500 documents or literature materials on displayed. That was the largest exhibition introduced his brilliant but short life.

The conservation treatments of this project were cataloged in "The Encyclopedia of Chen Chengbo - Volume 15 and Volume 16" respectively to record the process and conservation techniques, including oil paintings were conserved by RCCCR-NTNU, lead by Professor Takayasu Kijima and Dr. Fujiko Suzugamo they were from Tokyo University of the Arts both. Professor Chang Yuanfeng the chief professors of team also achieved conservation of paintings, documents or literature materials on paper base.
