Introduction
Museum 50 of Taiwan is famous for its collection of the Japanese colonial period (1895-1945). For many years, it has established a long-term cooperation with RCCCR and has continuously hosted special exhibitions, research projects, and books and catalogs publication on various cultural relics of Meiji period, Japan, which are highly acclaimed by art collectors & academia. By non-destructive inspection and analysis research, a cross- field cooperation of experts and scholars of this project completed the 3D dynamic X-ray video for the world-famous metal works of arts of articulated animals (Jizai Okimono, as known of production date can be traced back to 400 years ago, Edo Period), as well as the incredible techniques of hammered iron, gold carving and inlay. Through this project, we finally unlocked the mystery of traditional metal products and realized how to carry forward traditional craftsmanship and protect those precious and rare artworks.
